Leaking Shower Repairs
I specialise in a permanent solution for leaking showers, using an advanced epoxy re-grouting technology that stops leaks without the need for messy tile removal.
While standard silicones and cement grouts are the most common materials, they are prone to cracking, chipping, and deteriorating over time. This results in porous shower surfaces which allow for the water to seep behind the tiles and cause damage to the gybrock, the subfloor or the timber frame. Reapplying cement grout only creates a recurring problem that requires constant maintenance.
My approach uses materials designed to prevent future water leakage and provide a lasting, secure result. The epoxy grout is incredibly durable, bonds securely to tiles, and offers the flexibility needed to prevent cracks. Due to its chemical composition, it is 100% waterproof and provides a superior, long-term solution.
What Makes My Epoxy Grout Superior
100% Waterproof: The material’s non-porous nature makes it completely impermeable to water.
Stops Mold & Mildew: Because it’s non-porous, bacteria and mold cannot penetrate the surface.
Built to Last: It is highly resistant to stains, abrasions, and breakage.
Long-Term Durability: It won’t fade over time, maintaining the aesthetic of your shower for years to come.
Excellent Adhesion: It has an outstanding bond strength, keeping your tiles securely in place.
Easy to Maintain: The smooth, impermeable finish makes it incredibly easy to clean, saving you time and effort.
Product Warranty: The epoxy grout comes with a long-term product warranty from the manufacturer.
Standard Shower Repair Procedure Example:
• Leak detection and assessment
• Remove the silicone from the perimeter, vertical joint and the shower screen
• Remove the grout from the tile joints of the shower base and walls
• Clean and prepare for grouting
• Re-grout the tile joints:
( apply Epoxy Grout to the perimeter and the first row of the vertical joint. Apply Epoxy grout to the floor and the walls’ tile joints to ensure full water resistance. Seal the floor junctions and drain (waste) areas. Wash and clean )
• Apply silicone to the shower screen and vertical joint
• Inspect and seal the tabs
Shower Base Re-grout Services
Often, the entire shower doesn’t need to be repaired—only the shower base. As the most critical part of the shower cubicle, it receives the most water and deteriorates faster than the walls. My experience shows that the shower walls are frequently in good condition, and only the base requires attention. During the inspection, I’ll pinpoint the source of the leak and offer the most effective repair approach.
The shower base re-grouting includes replacing all necessary silicones, which will ensure a better look and complete waterproofing for your shower.
